The wait is over!
The team behind the popular Raspberry Pi RGB SCART adapter just dropped the RGB-Pi 2. This latest version is a slick 24-bit HDMI DAC housed in a 3D-printed case, designed specifically to bridge the gap between your Raspberry Pi 3, 4, or 5 and any RGB SCART display.
What makes the RGB-Pi 2 special isn’t just the hardware; it’s the synergy with the new RePlayOS. Together, they offer high-end features like a dedicated 3.5mm analog sync port for light gun support and toggleable sync combining (AND/XOR) to squash those stubborn sync-jitter issues.

I’m particularly stoked for RePlayOS. It’s currently available for free via their Patreon (just join the free tier to download). While it’s a dream for CRT enthusiasts, it also supports HD resolutions right out of the box.
Pro Tip: If you can’t wait for the hardware, you can test RePlayOS now using a standard VGA DAC and an HD15-2-SCART adapter. Just keep in mind that cheap DACs are a gamble—many struggle with 240p/480i transitions or colour accuracy.
I just grabbed one for about £50 and will be doing a deep-dive in a future post. First impressions on a Beocenter 1 are outstanding though, watch this space!
